With more than 20 years of experience in the elite echelons of the sports industry, Chris Overholt now leads Toronto-based OverActive Media Group, one of the most diverse and powerful esports organizations globally – owning more than seven international esports teams. OAM owns the Toronto Defiant of the Overwatch League, a League of Legends European Championship series franchise and the Toronto Ultra of the Call of Duty League ‐‐ making it the world’s first esports organization to own teams in the three biggest franchised leagues.
Chris has established himself as a leading and trusted voice in the worlds of sports and business. In August 2011, he was named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Olympic Committee and was in that role until October 2018, helping propel the organization to unprecedented growth in all areas of its commercial operations as the chief architect of the COC’s commercial strategy.
Prior to joining the COC, Chris served as VP and CMO for the Miami Dolphins. Before moving to Miami, he acted as the EVP and CMO of the Florida Panthers.
Chris" career in the sports industry began with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment in 1996, where he spent seven years delivering industry-leading results for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors.
